Perić with representatives of the Employers' Union on improving the career guidance system

The general director of the Directorate for career guidance and counseling and strategic planning at the Ministry of Education, Science and Innovation, and Branka Nikočević, an independent advisor at the Ministry, discussed with representatives of the Employers' Union Slobodan Mikavica, the president of the Union, Slaviša Šćekić, the president of the Assembly, and Marina Jovanović, an advisor for marketing and education. The focus was on improving the career guidance system and its importance for better connecting the education system with the needs of the economy. The interlocutors exchanged opinions on the current state of the education system, emphasizing the need for continuous professional development of teachers, enhancement of practical training, internships, and other activities that allow students direct exposure to the world of work. The need for stronger cooperation among all institutions to enable young people to achieve better career development and easier transition from education to the labor market was highlighted. It was emphasized that career guidance should start in elementary school and be continuously monitored throughout further education, so that students can make better decisions about their future professions based on their interests, abilities, and potentials. The interlocutors expressed readiness to continue joint activities through a partnership to implement the Strategy, reaffirming their commitment to further cooperation in improving the career guidance system in Montenegro.
