Criminal Complaint Against an Individual for Illegal Reconstruction of a Building in Herceg Novi

Officials of the Economic Crime Suppression Unit of the Herceg Novi Police Department, in coordination with the competent state prosecutor at the Basic Public Prosecutor's Office in Herceg Novi, filed a criminal complaint against D.K. (47) from Herceg Novi for suspicion of committing the criminal offense of building without a permit and documentation. In 2023, in the settlement of Đenovići in Herceg Novi, he started reconstructing a non-residential space owned by him, changing its purpose to a residential building, without previously obtaining a building permit and required documentation. During the process, he removed part of the roof structure and built a terrace, while inside the building, he carried out works including installing partition walls, performing construction work, and other modifications to adapt the space for residential use. Illegal construction activities were confirmed by a report from the construction inspection of the Urbanism and Construction Inspection Department of the Municipality of Herceg Novi. It is suspected that he caused damage to the budget of the Municipality of Herceg Novi amounting to 9,576 euros.
