In order to provide timely and accurate information, the Ministry of Internal Affairs informs the public that from June 22nd, 2023, 7,961 persons from Ukraine entered Montenegro, while 7,858 persons from Ukraine left Montenegro during the same period. A total of 17,009 requests for temporary protection were submitted (9,878 women and 7,131 men), of which 15,674 requests were approved. The number of requests for extension of temporary protection (considering that extension requests are submitted upon expiry of the one-year permit) in this period is 21,919, with women submitting 12,921 and men 8,998 requests. In 2023, 4,305 extension requests were submitted and 4,299 approved, while in 2024, 5,487 extension requests were submitted, all of which were approved by April 20, 2026, when the deadline for extension expired, totaling 5,529 requests for extension of temporary protection from the beginning of the new decision on granting temporary protection to Ukrainian nationals (March 4, 2026).
