Public Announcement for Taking the Higher Diplomatic-Consular Exam

Based on Article 84, paragraph 4 of the Law on Foreign Affairs (Official Gazette of CG, No. 70/17), the Ministry of Foreign Affairs announces that it will organize the higher diplomatic-consular exam from the 26th to the 30th. In accordance with Article 84, paragraph 1 of the Law on Foreign Affairs, the higher diplomatic-consular exam is taken to verify candidates' ability to perform the most complex diplomatic-consular tasks, to assess knowledge of diplomatic practice, and to evaluate the skills necessary for managing diplomatic and consular missions and other organizational units of the Ministry as required by law or other regulations. According to Article 84, paragraph 3 of the Law on Foreign Affairs, diplomats with at least two years in the rank of first secretary, one posting in a diplomatic-consular mission lasting at least three years, knowledge of one UN official language at level B2 and another foreign language at level C1, and at least five years of work experience are eligible to take the exam. Candidates must submit proof of the required diplomatic rank and work experience (at least five years of work experience, at least two years as first secretary, one posting in a diplomatic-consular mission lasting at least three years), foreign language proficiency, and a photocopy of their biometric ID card with their application. The exam is conducted in accordance with the Law on Foreign Affairs (Official Gazette of CG, No. 70/17) and the Regulation on the Program and Method of Conducting the Higher Diplomatic-Consular Exam (Official Gazette of CG, No. 47/19).
