Prime Minister Spajić congratulates Montenegro Statehood Day

July – On Montenegro Statehood Day, with a message that after eight and a half decades, we reaffirm that national strength and collective progress come from unity around the most important goals. In pivotal historical circumstances, Montenegro, united around its freedom, justice, and human dignity, demonstrated national pride, maturity, and responsibility. While many nations and larger states prepared to respond to wartime challenges, our ancestors, inspired by the achievements of 1878, showed resilience. He emphasized that it is especially pleasing that, despite all the differences representing attributes and the richness of a modern, democratic, civil state, we can state that together we strive for a common goal, and that Montenegro, regardless of individualism and pluralism inherent in democracy, has not only declared but substantively confirmed consensus on a prosperous future. This is no longer just our wish and future goal; it is our reality recognized and highly valued by our strategic partners and sincere friends, said the Prime Minister, adding that the latest EU initiative, which officially approved the financial package for Montenegro, as well as the predominantly responsible actions of representatives of citizens in the national legislative body, further support this. Through actions, we demonstrate that we understand the messages of the greatest dates in our history and hear the voices of generations whose achievements in the fight for a prosperous, just, and socially equal state, connected with the most advanced European countries – we continue with dignity.
