Transition to Paperless Business from 01.09.2026
According to previous information, we inform you that the transition to paperless business begins on 01.09.2026. From that date, submitting declarations and accompanying documents in paper form will no longer be possible. Customs administration has enabled all processes—from submission, acceptance, rejection, cancellation, control, to release of import/export declarations—to be conducted via electronic communication through message exchange in XML format. All economic entities that have not yet registered are once again urged to do so without delay (NEW FUNCTIONS OF THE CUSTOMS INFORMATION SYSTEM). Please note that this registration is a prerequisite for paperless operations in customs procedures, as the process of authorization and authentication (verification of access rights and application usage rights) is carried out as described on the eCarina/e-communication portal at the link: https://ecarina.me/ekomunikacija, and you are obliged to follow the steps or submit a request to the Customs Administration for registration.
