Responsibility for the cyberattack has been claimed by a foreign financially motivated ransomware group, which has carried out similar activities against companies and government institutions in other countries, including NATO and EU member states. These devices can be used not only for service attacks but also for reconnaissance (gathering network information), espionage (long-term data collection and theft), and other malicious purposes.
