Criminal Complaint Filed for Forging an Invoice and Inducing the Certification of False Content
Officials of the Sector for Combating Crime, specifically the Department for Suppressing Complex Forms of Economic Crime and Conducting Financial Investigations, Combating Corruption and Environmental Crime, in cooperation with officials of the Customs Administration and acting under the coordination and instructions of the Basic State Prosecutor’s Office in Kotor, filed a criminal complaint yesterday against I. (30) on suspicion of committing the criminal offense of inducing the certification of false content. The investigation conducted before the complaint was filed gathered evidence indicating that I., through a customs brokerage company, submitted a forged sales invoice to Customs Administration officials when filing a customs declaration to place goods into free circulation. The invoice stated a purchase price lower than the amount actually paid. In this way, he allegedly misled officials of the Customs Administration at the Kotor Terminal Customs Office, who enabled him that same day to clear the vehicle based on the reduced value, thereby allegedly obtaining unlawful financial gain to the detriment of the Budget of Montenegro.
