Preparations for the 37th International Biology Olympiad
Organized and coordinated by the Examination Center, preparations are underway for students representing Montenegro at the 37th International Biology Olympiad. The country will be represented by students: Ksenija Blagojević (Stojan Cerović Gymnasium, Nikšić), Nađa Vukčević (Niko Rolović Gymnasium, Bar), Daniil Monakhov (Niko Rolović Gymnasium, Bar), and Haris Muhotić (Slobodan Škerović Gymnasium, Podgorica). Team leaders and jury members at this prestigious competition will be Luka Velašević, MSc (EMBL) and Aleksa Petković (MPI Biological Intelligence; LMU). Preparations are conducted in collaboration with experts from the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Mathematics at the University of Montenegro (Teodora Tanjević, BSc; Nikica Lazarević, BSc; Dr. Dragana Petrović; Prof. Dr. Danilo Mrdak), from the Specialized Veterinary Laboratory (Dr. Bojan Adžić and Dr. Radoš Miković), and the University of Groningen (Jelena Leka, MSc). During the preparations, contestants had the opportunity to familiarize themselves with modern research and laboratory methods in biological sciences—from dissections and microscopy to PCR and bioinformatics analyses.
