NLnet supports Bits of Freedom

[January 28, 2016] Stichting NLnet donates €40,000 to the digital civil rights movement "Bits of Freedom" (BoF) to support its projects. This information is specifically aimed at Dutch and European policymakers: a translation of technology into practice that they can work with. In 2015, BoF published, among other things, a position paper on the importance of high-quality encryption for our freedom and economy. BoF explained to citizens and politics how the "Computer Crime Bill" (nicknamed `the hacking proposal') would make society less secure. Stichting NLnet is one of the few organizations with enough expertise and resources to support this type of projects.
