Cybersecurity, Artificial Intelligence, and Regional Cooperation at the Focus of Discussions at Western Balkans Cyber Camp 2026

Western Balkans Cyber Camp 2026 began with a series of welcoming speeches, panel discussions, and expert sessions focused on strengthening regional cooperation and addressing emerging cybersecurity challenges faced by the Western Balkans region. Participants engaged in discussions on cyber resilience, threats driven by artificial intelligence, offensive security, digital transformation, and the increasing importance of protecting critical digital infrastructure in an increasingly interconnected region. In his opening speech, the Director General of the Albanian Cyber Security Authority, Bledar Kazia, emphasized that cybersecurity today goes beyond technical dimensions, closely linked to national security, economic development, and regional stability. He highlighted the importance of regional cooperation, knowledge exchange, and strengthening connections among young professionals in the Western Balkans, encouraging participants to use WBCC 2026 not only as a space for learning and conducting cyber exercises but also as an opportunity to build long-term collaboration and share experiences beyond borders. Speakers throughout the sessions also stressed the vital role of young professionals, innovation, trust, and human capital in building safe and sustainable digital societies, encouraging participants to continue strengthening regional ties and cooperation beyond the camp.
