Ivanović welcomed European leaders: Montenegro hosts Europe and, together with regional partners, gives new momentum to the European future of the Western Balkans

Deputy Prime Minister for Foreign and European Affairs Dr. Filip Ivanović welcomed high European officials visiting Montenegro for the EU-Western Balkans Summit, an event that positioned Montenegro at the center of European political dialogue on the region's future and EU enlargement policy. Ahead of the Summit, Ivanović greeted Belgian Prime Minister Bart De Wever, Estonian Prime Minister Kristen Mikale, Irish Prime Minister Mícheál Martin, Luxembourg Prime Minister Xavier Bettel, and European Parliament President Roberta Metsola, welcoming them to Montenegro and thanking them for their support of the region's European future. The presence of top European officials strongly affirms Montenegro's international reputation and the trust it has built as a credible partner of the European Union. It also recognizes the progress Montenegro has made on its European path and confirms that Montenegro is now a key interlocutor regarding the future of EU enlargement policy. Ivanović assessed that the Summit occurs at a time when the European Union recognizes the importance of integrating the Western Balkans.
