Erasmus+ Key to Modernising Higher Education and Strengthening Regional Cooperation
Ms Tatjana Ćalasan, State Secretary at the Ministry of Education, Science and Innovation, addressed participants at the international conference “Western Balkans in Focus: Promoting and Deepening Cooperation within the Erasmus+ Programme,” held on 14 [date incomplete]. The event was organised by the German Erasmus+ National Agency (DAAD) in cooperation with the National Erasmus+ Office in Montenegro and the national agencies of Austria, Poland and the Czech Republic. She noted that, on the path to EU membership, European integration is felt most directly in education. Ćalasan said the Ministry would continue supporting Montenegrin institutions in international cooperation, with the aim of ensuring that the Western Balkans remains firmly included in the next generation of programmes. The conference programme included a panel discussion on strengthening cooperation in the Western Balkans, focusing on the experiences to date and prospects of candidate countries, as well as an overview of funding opportunities under the Erasmus+ programme. Through workshops, participants exchanged experiences on international mobility, cooperation projects, joint master’s programmes and topics related to the Bologna Process, while networking activities focused on developing concrete project ideas for future partnerships.
