Bečić: Montenegro has been a strong and unequivocal supporter of the Berlin Process from the beginning

We are pleased to have the opportunity to host you and to share that Montenegro, after the significant summit of EU and Western Balkans leaders held in June in Tivat, has the privilege of presiding over the Berlin Process this year, and in September and October, we will host our partners. From economic, political, and cultural cooperation, exchange of goods, people, capital, assistance in integration processes, to fighting crime—mutual cooperation among Western Balkan countries benefits us all. Our choice is to jointly shape a secure future and leave better, stronger, and more resilient relations and partnerships for future generations than those inherited from turbulent events in the region decades ago,” emphasized Bečić. Speaking about the region’s European perspective, Bečić highlighted that Montenegro welcomes the successes of its neighbors, as European progress is not just an individual achievement but reflects on the entire region. He believes this is mutual, as success on the European path benefits both Montenegro and its neighbors, with hopes for Montenegro’s soon EU membership. He toasted to our cooperation, friendship, further strengthening of relations, building bridges, and a shared European future,” he concluded, the Deputy Prime Minister for security, defense, fight against crime, and internal policy.
