Vice President Bečić Congratulates Žabljak Municipality Day
In September, on Žabljak Municipality Day, I extend sincere congratulations to the Mayor Radoš Žugić, the President of the Municipal Assembly Ivan Popović, the Deputy Mayor Darko Šljivančanín, the members of the Municipal Assembly, as well as all citizens of Žabljak. This day with deep respect reminds us of the glorious pages of history written by the fearless Durmitor residents, whose courage, rebellious spirit, and loyalty to anti-fascist values left a lasting mark on the history of this region and our country. From the majestic Durmitor and Black Lake, through Savino Kuka to the Tara Canyon, Žabljak is a jewel of Montenegro and a recognizable mountain tourism capital, whose importance exceeds the borders of our country. Therefore, our responsibility is not only to preserve what has been entrusted to us but also to create conditions for its responsible and sustainable development. This year's summer tourist season and record-breaking visitor numbers in Žabljak show that cooperation between local and national authorities yields unprecedented results, bringing joy to the people of this region, local self-government, as well as Montenegro and its tourism industry. Proud of our glorious past, respectful of the people who today protect and build their homeland, and with faith in the future we are creating for generations to come, I once again congratulate all citizens of Žabljak on Municipality Day, wishing good health, personal happiness, family peace, and overall progress for your region.
