Spajić and Erdogan discuss stronger cooperation between the two countries: Montenegro and Turkey form a High-Level Cooperation Council

Prime Minister Milojko Spajić visited Turkey on the occasion of the NATO Summit, using the opportunity to meet with President Erdogan. They discussed further strengthening political and economic relations between the two friendly countries, regional issues, Montenegro's European integration, and defense cooperation. Prime Minister Spajić thanked President Erdogan for the excellent organization and hosting of this year's NATO Summit, highlighting that the Montenegrin delegation was received at the highest level, confirming the strong friendship and mutual respect between the two states. Reflecting on the NATO Summit results, the Prime Minister assessed that the leaders' meeting was highly successful, with decisions made that further reinforce Alliance unity and contribute to the long-term security, peace, and stability of the Euro-Atlantic area. Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan stated that Turkey considers Montenegro a sincere friend and reliable ally, emphasizing that the high level of Turkish investments demonstrates confidence in Montenegro and its development potential. He also noted that Montenegro's goal of EU accession involves full alignment with the EU's common foreign and security policy and continued reforms in key areas. The meeting concluded that Montenegro and Turkey have excellent and substantive bilateral relations based on mutual trust, NATO alliance, and strong economic ties. The establishment of a High-Level Cooperation Council and upcoming official visits are seen as a new step in their strategic development.
