Campaign 'Live, Don't Rush' – Increased Traffic Control During Weekend Days
Considering the expected increase in traffic volume, especially towards the Montenegrin coast, the northern parts of the country, and tourist centers, additional traffic and motorcycle patrols will be deployed, including mobile traffic police units – 'runners', aerial surveillance using drones, and other available police resources. Special emphasis will be placed on speed control, driving under the influence of alcohol and psychoactive substances, illegal overtaking, endangering other traffic participants, not wearing seat belts, and improper use of mobile phones while driving, as well as other violations posing immediate risks to people's lives and health. The mobile traffic police units – 'runners' – will be active on the most frequented and safety-critical routes, including the Princess Ksenija highway, and routes Podgorica–Danilovgrad–Nikšić, Podgorica–Virpazar, Podgorica–Cetinje, and Nikšić–Plužine. In Tivat, intensified controls will be organized on the M-1 main road, on the Lepetani–Radanovići section, with particular focus on locations such as Lepetani, Opatovo, Donja Lastva, Seljanovo, Mažina, Kalimanj, Župa, Dumidran, Tivat Airport, and Radanovići. Due to the expected large number of visitors from Montenegro and the region, police patrols will be deployed on access roads to Krupa and in the Nikšić area, with special attention to safe traffic flow, speed control, driving under the influence, and other violations that could threaten participant safety. The planned locations serve as a framework for engagement, and police officers will, based on security assessments, traffic volume, accidents, potential congestion, and other circumstances, adjust their schedules and focus additional surveillance on other sections as needed.
