Kordić Meets World Bank Representatives: Enhancing Montenegro’s International Position and Expanding Tourism Markets
Minister of Tourism Simonida Kordić met with Liang Wang, the new head of the World Bank Office for Montenegro and Bosnia and Herzegovina, to discuss their successful cooperation to date and opportunities for further improvement. World Bank representatives recognized Montenegro’s efforts to diversify tourism markets and strengthen its position on the global tourism map, highlighting the Ministry of Tourism’s activities to enhance international cooperation and promote the country as an attractive tourism and investment destination. The meeting was described as an important contribution to Montenegro’s international visibility, the connection of tourism markets, and its positioning as a platform for dialogue and the exchange of experiences on the future of tourism and nautical activities. Kordić also presented the publication “Tourism Doing Business – Investing in Montenegro,” prepared by Montenegro in cooperation with UN Tourism, which provides investment guidelines and an overview of potential locations for developing tourism projects. She emphasized that current tourism trends increasingly align with Montenegro’s development goals, as tourists are more frequently choosing travel outside the peak season, lesser-known destinations, and authentic experiences. The meeting confirmed mutual interest in continuing cooperation, particularly in strategic planning and creating conditions for sustainable investments that will contribute to the competitiveness of Montenegrin tourism and more balanced regional development.
