Regarding Increased Media Interest in the Cyber Security Agency Situation

Jovan Kljajić is in a lawful position as the President of the Cyber Security Agency Council, including performing the duties of General Director in this Ministry, appointed from among civil servants due to the resignation of the previous director. The Ministry has not received any act from the Anti-Corruption Agency indicating possible irregularities in Jovan Kljajić's performance. On the contrary, Jovan Kljajić voluntarily reported himself and officially contacted the Anti-Corruption Agency for an assessment of his official status. Once we receive the Agency's opinion, we will inform the public, and the Minister of Public Administration will decide how to proceed regarding Mr. Kljajić and all other officials and actors involved in lawful procedures with the Anti-Corruption Agency. At the end of the procedural deadline for the Agency's director election, Jovan Kljajić remains within the legal 30-day period to assess the compatibility of his functions, and the process in the Agency Council is thus fully lawful. The Minister of Public Administration will not hastily propose the dismissal of Council members who do not attend meetings but believes that a solution to unblock the Council and the institution as a whole will be found very soon. The appointment of the director in August and its continuation are not in question, and it will depend on circumstances that may lead current Council members, who have temporarily ceased work, to return to regular duties.
