Border police confiscated 11.3 kilograms of marijuana; driver fled after chase

Officers of the Regional Border Police Center 'North' yesterday, conducting border zone surveillance and cross-border crime prevention activities, seized over 11 kilograms of marijuana after a chase, and upon order of the state prosecutor, filed criminal charges against unknown persons for drug abuse. Specifically, officers from the Border Police Station I Bijelo Polje yesterday in the village of Grab, near the border with Serbia, observed a white Nissan Pathfinder vehicle with Kolašin license plates. After issuing a clear stop signal, the driver briefly stopped, then suddenly turned the vehicle and fled towards Paviće Polje. Police officers, in coordination with the relevant prosecutor's office, conducted an on-site investigation, during which they found 10 PVC packages containing a substance later identified as marijuana, totaling 11.317 kilograms. In cooperation with the Cross-Border Crime Suppression Department, regional border police centers 'Center' and 'South,' and security departments in Bijelo Polje, Kolašin, Ulcinj, and Podgorica, a series of criminal measures and actions were carried out to establish all facts and circumstances related to the event and identify persons possibly connected to the crime. The case was reported to the higher state prosecutor in Bijelo Polje, who stated that the case involves illegal production, possession, and distribution of narcotics, and ordered criminal charges to be filed against unknown perpetrators.
