Border Police and Port Authority Conduct Action on Lake Skadar Focusing on Passenger Safety: Violations Detected in Six Individuals

Officers from the Regional Border Police Center "Center" – Border Police Station I Podgorica, together with inspectors from the Port Authority of Bar, carried out an intensified control operation of persons and vessels in the area of Lake Skadar. The operation aimed at preventive measures and suppressing all forms of illegal activities on the water, with a special focus on the safety of persons transported by vessels. Control of persons and vessels on Lake Skadar was conducted from 07:00 to 16:00 hours. Violations related to the conditions for operating vessels were found in six individuals managing vessels. These individuals will face sanctions under the jurisdiction of the Port Authority. The joint activities of the Police Directorate and the Port Authority aim to prevent all forms of cross-border crime and illegal activities on the water, as well as to ensure compliance with legal requirements for vessel operation and safety, applicable to both vessel operators and technical conditions necessary for safe use and passenger transport on water.
