Ivanović in Sofia: Montenegro and Bulgaria strengthen cooperation in education, science, and European integrations

The Deputy Prime Minister of Montenegro for foreign and European affairs, Dr. Filip Ivanović, began a working visit to Sofia at the University of National and World Economy, where he met with the university's rector. He stated that EU membership for Montenegro is not only a strategic goal but a process in which we want to demonstrate our readiness to take responsibility and contribute to the European project. Speaking about the future of enlargement policy, he emphasized that Western Balkans European integration has significance beyond individual national interests, as it contributes to stability, security, economic development, and resilience of the European continent. A stable and integrated Western Balkans is not only in the interest of candidate countries but also in the interest of the European Union. Regarding the role of youth, Ivanović conveyed that European integration is not just a process for institutions and political structures but for society as a whole, with today's students being future carriers of European policies, economy, science, and international cooperation. At the end of his lecture, Ivanović stated: 'Our message from Sofia is clear – Montenegro is committed to completing negotiations, continuing reforms, and building a society ready for membership. At the same time, we want to build a European future through partnerships, knowledge, and trust with our European friends.'
