Solbackakursen strengthens Sweden's total defense

During five intensive days, officials in the total defense, led by the Supreme Commander, the Director General of the Civil Defense Agency, and the Vice Chancellor of the Swedish Defence University, have made the total defense stronger. The course combined lectures from agency heads, state secretaries, high representatives from NATO, and defense and security policy experts with scenario-based exercises. By understanding our different roles, practicing together, and sharing various perspectives on total defense, we become better equipped to protect our democratic society whether facing disruptions, crises, heightened alert, or war, says Major General Anders Callert, course manager and Vice Chancellor at the Swedish Defence University. Their engagement and expertise are a crucial driving force in the continued work to jointly strengthen the total defense's capabilities at all levels, says Mikael Frisell, Director General of the Civil Defense Agency. – Leaders in total defense need to assess the full spectrum of possible developments – from the most likely to the most serious – and take measures within their own organizations. The Solbacka Course 2026 has made the total defense stronger, says Supreme Commander Michael Claesson, who, along with Mikael Frisell, was present throughout the course implementation.
