Training for users of plant protection products held in Nikšić

Participants had the opportunity to gain and improve knowledge in the field of plant protection, proper and responsible use of plant protection products, good agricultural practices, integrated plant protection, and organic production through expert lectures. Special attention was given to risk reduction measures, proper storage and handling of plant protection products, health and environmental risks, first aid measures in case of pesticide exposure, waste management, legal regulations, and record keeping. The practical part of the training included lectures on equipment for applying plant protection products, practical calculations, and demonstrations of correct pesticide application, after which participants had the chance to clarify questions through discussion and consultations. Based on the issued certificate, participants will be registered in the Register of plant protection product users, after which the Food Safety, Veterinary, and Phytosanitary Affairs Directorate will issue them a license to purchase plant protection products, in accordance with current regulations. This way, users of funds from the Agrobudget and municipal budgets intended for agricultural development can be timely informed about standards and obligations they must meet in the area of sustainable and safe use of plant protection products. The Directorate will continue organizing specialist courses in all regions of Montenegro, in cooperation with competent institutions and local governments, to ensure that as many professional users as possible acquire the necessary knowledge and meet the conditions for safe and responsible use of plant protection products.
