Police Department Identified and Unmasked Members of a Criminal Group Assisting Suspects in a Serious Homicide in Serbia

Police officers from the Police Department, in coordination with the Higher State Prosecutor's Office in Bijelo Polje, identified a criminal group suspected of helping suspects hide and escape after committing a serious homicide on the 22nd. It is believed that the members collaborated to commit crimes based on prior agreements and coordinated actions, organizing activities to assist perpetrators after the crime by providing logistical support and creating conditions for their concealment and evasion of prosecution. They facilitated illegal border crossings from Serbia into Montenegro for two suspects, outside official border crossings, in the Rožaje municipality, and the next day organized their transport from Rožaje to Podgorica to hide and prevent their detection and prosecution, thereby gaining illegal material benefits. During this operation, travel documents issued by Croatia, 50 pieces of hunting ammunition, and three passenger vehicles were seized for further forensic analysis. Police continue intensive efforts to identify, locate, and prosecute members of criminal groups and perpetrators of serious crimes, while also taking additional measures to uncover and prosecute other individuals connected to this criminal activity.
