PU: Over 2,300 controls carried out in three months, €2,127,350 in fines issued

During this period, a total of 2,384 controls focused on verifying the legality of business operations, compliance with fiscal discipline, and combating the informal economy. Inspections identified irregularities in 435 taxpayers, resulting in 635 misdemeanor orders with fines totaling €2,127,350. Of these, 243 offenders accepted responsibility and paid half of the fines, amounting to €574,050. Tax inspectors issued temporary business bans to 45 taxpayers, one of the strictest measures under current regulations. Using risk analysis, inspectors conduct targeted controls on taxpayers with previous violations or suspected unreported transactions. The goal of the Public Unit is to improve communication and strengthen trust with taxpayers, encouraging voluntary compliance.
