Joković and Čulafić on continuing activities on the [lat]WASEC[/lat] project with World Bank representatives

Minister of Agriculture, Forestry, and Water Management Vladimir Joković attended a meeting at the invitation of Minister of Ecology, Sustainable Development, and Northern Development Damjan Čulafić, where discussions continued on concrete steps for implementing the project to improve water supply and climate change adaptation (WASEC). The conversation covered upcoming activities, including the involvement of local governments, their needs and priorities, and models for financing projects at the local level, with implementation expected in the near future. Joković emphasized the importance and needs for such a project, which is crucial for the citizens of Montenegro, especially in northern municipalities. He noted that this year's drought and difficult conditions faced by many northern municipalities during the summer demonstrated the importance of upgrading water infrastructure and ensuring water supply security. Joković stressed the need for the project to be approved and negotiated as soon as possible so that citizens can benefit from its realization promptly. The project will be implemented in multiple phases, with gradual execution of planned activities and investments. The WASEC project, valued at 55 million euros, aims to improve water security and climate resilience of water services in Montenegro.
