Minister Joković held a meeting with pellet producers

In order to maintain market stability, protect citizens' interests, and create conditions for smooth operation of domestic producers, Minister of Agriculture, Forestry, and Water Management Vladimir Joković initiated a meeting with representatives of pellet producers. Minister Joković expressed understanding for the problems faced by pellet producers, emphasizing that the goal of the Ministry is for domestic producers to continue stable operations, and for citizens of Montenegro to have the opportunity to purchase pellets at normal and acceptable prices. It was agreed that the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry, and Water Management, in cooperation with other competent institutions, will work intensively over the next 15 to 20 days to find modalities and solutions, taking into account the interests of both producers and citizens. Regarding the provision of additional raw material quantities, it was concluded that sanitary felling is an important measure for forest health and environmental preservation, as well as for creating conditions for greater availability of raw materials for pellet production. Pellet producers' representatives expressed their readiness to participate in further discussions and activities aimed at stabilizing the market and ensuring more secure supply of pellets to citizens in the upcoming period. The Ministry will continue, together with all relevant partners, activities aimed at preserving the domestic wood industry, sustainable forest management, and protecting the interests of citizens of Montenegro.
