Montenegro is paid approximately 3.4 million euros in EU support for public administration reform

Montenegro today received approximately 3.4 million euros from European Union funds under the sectoral budget support program for public administration reform and public finance management. The payment of the first variable tranche is the result of successful coordination and joint work of the Ministry of Public Administration, the Ministry of Finance, the Human Resources Administration, and other competent institutions in meeting the defined reform goals and indicators. Approving the funds confirms Montenegro's progress in public administration reform, as well as the institutions' ability to coordinate and implement planned activities and achieve concrete results. A functional, responsible, and transparent administration is essential for the quality implementation of public policies, the application of European standards, and providing better services to citizens and businesses. The total value of sectoral budget support for public administration reform and public finance management, within the Annual Action Plan IPA 2022, amounts to 16.6 million euros. Of this amount, 13.1 million euros are intended for direct budget support, while 3.5 million euros are allocated for complementary support projects.
