Renovation of schools in Herceg Novi and Risno is proceeding as planned: We continue to create better conditions for children and teachers

As part of the third phase of the project, 11 elementary schools across Montenegro have so far been renovated, with work continuing on other school facilities. The experience of schools that have already been renovated is the best confirmation of the value of this project, as the true effect of the investment is seen only when children and teachers return to their classrooms and daily school life gains new quality. We have renovated 11 schools across Montenegro and are moving forward because we want as many children and teachers as possible to have the conditions they deserve. We know that each reconstruction brings certain changes during the work, but our experience shows that after completion, the reason for all this becomes clear: the satisfaction of children, teachers, and the entire school community. The works include installing thermal insulation on facade walls and roof surfaces, installing new facade joinery and sun protection, replacing the heating system with more environmentally friendly heat pumps, replacing electrical installations, installing new LED lighting, repairing sanitary facilities, and adapting buildings for persons with reduced mobility. The works are part of the project “Promotion of energy efficiency in public buildings of Montenegro – greening public infrastructure,” implemented by the Ministry of Energy and Mining in cooperation with the Ministry of Education, Science and Innovation, with financial support from the German Development Bank (KfW) and the European Union through credit and grant funds, with contributions from the Government of Montenegro.
