Mojkovac: Bus driver who transported students detained by the competent prosecutor; five people injured – all injured persons are in stable condition

Officials of the Mojkovac Police Department, upon the order of the State Prosecutor's Office in Bijelo Polje, detained the driver who was operating the bus last night, G.M (52), a citizen of the Republic of Serbia, with a temporary residence and work permit in Montenegro, on suspicion of committing a serious criminal offense against public transport safety. The bus, operated by a transportation company from Budva, was involved in the traffic accident, with students from the 9th grade of an elementary school in Podgorica returning from a school trip. Based on the investigation and other measures taken, it is suspected that the accident occurred when G.M, driving the bus, made contact with a rock on the right side of the road. Five persons were injured in the accident – the trip leader V.Š (28), who sustained serious injuries but is not life-threatening, and four ninth-grade students who received minor injuries. Later, during the night, three more individuals, one minor and two adults, reported to the Mojkovac Emergency Medical Unit due to stress and distress. Along with criminal charges, the driver will be brought before the competent State Prosecutor in Bijelo Polje within the legal deadline on suspicion of committing a serious criminal offense against public transport safety.
