Representatives of the Cybersecurity Agency at a regional workshop on combating disinformation
Representatives of the Cybersecurity Agency attended the regional workshop "Regional Workshop on Strategies to Combat Disinformation," held on September 29 in Podgorica, organized by the Western Balkans Cyber Capacity Centre (WB3C), in collaboration with EU and Council of Europe joint projects CyberSEE and CyberEAST+. The workshop focused on strengthening the capacities of institutions and services in the Western Balkans to recognize, assess, and respond to risks related to disinformation and coordinated information operations. Participants had the opportunity to improve their skills through practical examples, simulations, and exercises in identifying information operations, basic analysis of publicly available sources, risk assessment, mapping networks and information dissemination methods, and preserving digital evidence. Emphasis was placed on the need for lawful and coordinated responses, while fully respecting freedom of expression and other fundamental rights. Participants also discussed ways to enhance cooperation between police and other services, especially in situations where disinformation campaigns have a cyber component.
