Ivanović with Ambassador Jones: Montenegro and the United Kingdom committed to further strengthening strategic partnership

The interlocutors exchanged views on current topics of importance for bilateral relations, with a special focus on Montenegro's European integration, regional cooperation, security and defense, fight against organized crime, as well as opportunities to intensify economic and energy cooperation. He emphasized that Montenegro particularly values strong cooperation with the United Kingdom in defense and security areas, considering the alliance between the two countries within NATO, as well as London's continuous support for strengthening Montenegrin institutional capacities. Ivanović pointed out that there is significant room for further intensification of bilateral cooperation, especially in areas of common interest, including economy, investments, energy, green transition, digitalization, education, and tourism. Ambassador Jones praised the progress Montenegro has made on its European path, highlighting its commitment to continuing reform processes and achieving concrete results in areas relevant for EU membership. She noted that the United Kingdom values Montenegro's clear European orientation, its constructive role in the region, and its contribution to strengthening regional stability, and expressed readiness for London to continue supporting Montenegro in achieving its strategic goals. The meeting confirmed mutual commitment to continuing open, substantive, and constructive political dialogue, with confidence that the existing Montenegrin-British partnership will be further enhanced through concrete cooperation and joint activities.
