Large parts of total defense gathered to plan Total Defense Exercise

Last week, public and private actors gathered to conduct the penultimate planning conference for the Total Defense Exercise (ÖTF). The focus was on planning this year's upcoming training activities under the motto: We mobilize our strength to train together and thereby contribute to NATO's collective defense, Sweden's resilience, and to strengthen our endurance! The first national training activity within the ÖTF framework was carried out at the end of 2025. The focus during that exercise was on transitioning to wartime organization, which several participating actors had already practiced through exercises across the country. In 2026, two more exercises will be conducted, with increased involvement from the private sector and further scenario development, culminating in a final system test in 2027.
