Awards for Best Journalistic Stories within the Campaign "Open about the EU"

The first place in the competition was won by journalist Biljana Matijašević from ND Vijesti with a story about the position of small EU member states and whether they truly have equal influence when key decisions are made at the European Union level. According to the jury, the winning story addressed this topic comprehensively, analytically, and clearly, opening a broader view of the political and economic position of small countries in the EU through the experiences of smaller member states and lessons that Montenegro can learn from them. The third place was awarded to TV Nova M journalist Anđela Šestović, whose story deals with the topic of the emigration of young and qualified workers from Montenegro after EU membership to other member states. Addressing the contest participants, Minister of European Affairs Maida Gorčević said that journalists thoroughly and interestingly covered the topics opened by the Ministry through the campaign "Open about the EU". Upon receiving the award, Biljana Matijašević stated that as a journalist who has long followed the process of European integration, she wanted her story to seek answers and present comparative experiences about the position of small states in the EU. Radio Kotor journalist Sanja Čavor said that her story aimed to shed light on the Boka Bay, Montenegrin beekeepers, and all small entrepreneurs in Montenegro, and to show how beekeepers managed, with the help of EU funds and support from the European Union, to brand their honey, bees, and hives.
