Workshop on Industrial Emissions and Volatile Organic Compounds Held in Podgorica
In 2023, a TAIEX workshop dedicated to the Industrial Emissions Directive and the use of volatile organic compounds was held, focusing on strengthening inspectors' capacity for efficient solvent balance calculations. The aim of the workshop was to enhance inspectors' expertise in calculating solvent balances in accordance with the Industrial Emissions Directive and related regulations on volatile organic compounds, as well as to improve understanding of conformity assessment procedures based on available data, including examples of solvent mass balances. Participants included inspectors, representatives of institutions involved in monitoring and implementing environmental protection regulations, and representatives of regulatory authorities responsible for industrial facilities, chemical safety, and solvent management. This TAIEX activity significantly contributes to strengthening Montenegro's administrative and technical capacities for applying EU standards in industrial emissions, chemical management, control of volatile organic compound emissions, and environmental protection. The workshop was conducted as part of the European Union's support to Montenegro in aligning with EU legislation.
