Director of the Police Administration Lazar Šćepanović Meets with the EU WB CEPS Project Team

The Director of the Police Administration Mr. Lazar Šćepanović met with Filip Ganglof, leader of the EU project "Strengthening the resilience of critical entities and protection of public and cyber spaces from security threats in the Western Balkans" (WB CEPS). Director Šćepanović and project leader Mr. Ganglof expressed satisfaction with the continuation of cooperation through new activities that represent the second phase of the project "Enhancing the protection of public spaces and critical infrastructure in the Western Balkans 2026–2029" (WB CIPS), funded by the European Union. It was jointly assessed that the first phase of the project provided significant support to Montenegro in the area of public space and critical infrastructure protection, especially through professional training, experience exchange, and best practices with EU member states. In the next phase, targeted training and practical activities are expected, focusing on the specific needs of Montenegrin institutions, including risk assessment, public space protection, critical infrastructure resilience, crisis management, and drone management, with an additional focus on practical application of acquired knowledge, strengthening institutional capacities, and supporting Montenegro in further alignment with relevant EU standards and practices. Director Šćepanović particularly emphasized the importance of linking the new phase of the project with the Cyber Center (WB3C) in Podgorica, which will enable a more comprehensive response to modern challenges and hybrid security threats. The Montenegrin police, concluded Director Šćepanović, remains a reliable partner in international cooperation and collective security within the international intelligence community, with a primary focus on strengthening the capacities of competent authorities and institutions in accordance with EU standards in the fight against contemporary security challenges.
