Commemorated the Anniversary of the Death of Junior Warrant Dejan Božović

Deputy Prime Minister of Montenegro for Security, Defense, and Fight Against Crime Aleksa Bečić, Minister of Defense Dragan Krapović, and Chief of the General Staff of the Montenegrin Army Brigadier General Miodrag Vuksanović laid wreaths today on the memorial plaque of Junior Warrant Dejan Božović, on the anniversary of his death in a firefighting incident. Speaking about his sacrifice, the minister emphasized that Božović demonstrated readiness to put others' lives before his own, exemplifying what it means to wear the uniform and the emblem of his country. ‚‚Dejan's departure left an irreplaceable void for his family, as well as for the Montenegrin Army, which lost an honorable soldier, a trusted comrade, and a man loved and respected by his colleagues,” he stated. The memorial plaque at the site of the incident, as noted by Krapović, represents much more than a marker of a tragic event; it is a lasting reminder of a life dedicated to serving the state and the values that should guide future generations of Montenegrin Army members. “The greatest strength of the Montenegrin Army lies in the people who make it up,” the minister said, highlighting that it is the state's duty to preserve the memory of Dejan Božović, to speak of his name with respect, and to keep his example as an inspiration for all who serve under the flag of Montenegro. Krapović expressed his deepest respect and gratitude to the family of Junior Warrant Božović, as well as to Dejan himself, whose sacrifice, as he stated, is permanently inscribed in the history of the Montenegrin Army and the collective memory of the state.
