European Heritage Day Celebration Program in 2026
The international event European Heritage Days is celebrated every September under the patronage of the European Commission and the Council of Europe with the aim of raising awareness about shared European heritage and the ongoing need for its protection. The theme for 2026 is "Endangered Heritage: Revive, Preserve, Redefine," highlighting the urgent need for action and creativity in protecting cultural heritage exposed to risks from climate change, natural disasters, social and technological pressures. In this year's cycle for 2026, the Directorate for Cultural Heritage evaluated a total of 37 applications submitted by local public institutions, municipalities, business entities (LLC), and non-governmental organizations.
