During the weekend, 88 drivers were detained

In August, 69 traffic accidents were recorded on Montenegrin roads, with no fatalities. Four people sustained serious injuries, while 19 were lightly injured. Traffic police officers, as part of intensified preventive and repressive activities, filed 226 misdemeanor reports, issued 1,830 misdemeanor orders, temporarily confiscated 11 pairs of license plates, and removed as many vehicles from traffic. Of the total number of drivers detained, 37 were detained by officers of the Podgorica Security Department. We remind that the new Traffic Safety Law provides for stricter and more comprehensive sanctions for drivers who endanger traffic safety. Police activities will particularly focus on sanctioning driving under the influence of alcohol and psychoactive substances, speeding, running red lights, and other behaviors that directly threaten the lives and safety of all participants in traffic.
