The Government of Montenegro has adopted a Decree on placing small quantities of animal origin products intended for human consumption on the market, published in the Official Gazette of Montenegro, number 116/2026 from May 5. The Decree establishes rules and deviations from hygiene requirements for entities engaged in small-scale production, processing, and handling of animal origin products in registered facilities on farms. It further regulates the registration and official controls of these facilities, aligning with relevant European Union regulations on food safety and animal origin products.
