Ministry of Tourism and Innovation Fund Sign Cooperation Memorandum
Minister of Tourism Simonida Kordić and Executive Director of the Innovation Fund, Katarina Lalović, signed a cooperation memorandum to initiate concrete actions aimed at improving the tourism sector in Montenegro. "The activities to be implemented based on this memorandum, in cooperation with the Innovation Fund, include, among other things, the electronic registry of private accommodation providers, electronic categorization in the tourism sector, and a digital tourism map of Montenegro," said Kordić after signing. She also emphasized that introducing these digital models will facilitate tourists' stay, arrival, and access to Montenegro, while removing many administrative barriers. "For the Ministry of Tourism, this is also a way to have direct insight into the dynamics of tourism services, identify advantages and shortcomings, and gather reliable field data, which is the foundation for developing adequate and quality tourism policies," Kordić stated. She thanked the Innovation Fund and expressed her anticipation for the rapid implementation of a system that will benefit not only the Ministry but the entire economy and users of tourism services. Lalović announced that the GovTech program was successfully implemented in Montenegro through two phases, including an initial phase where the public sector, including the Ministry of Tourism, addressed several issues.
