Kordić at WTTC Global Summit: Montenegro does not choose between ease of travel and safety – we want both

At the WTTC Global Summit held in Malta, which gathered over 1,000 participants from more than 100 countries, Kordić spoke about the importance of ease of travel for the competitiveness of tourist destinations, emphasizing that Montenegro should not have to choose between travel simplicity and safety. She highlighted that the concept of barrier-free travel should be viewed as a matter of overall accessibility of the destination, not just through individual border or administrative procedures. Recognizing these trends, Montenegro has initiated the process of establishing a Tourist Information System to consolidate key tourism data and enable better sector management. The goal is to ensure that tourism benefits are felt throughout all 12 months by extending the season, improving offerings, and increasing destination competitiveness while maintaining high safety standards. Participation in the WTTC Global Summit provides an opportunity to exchange experiences with leading representatives of the global tourism industry and strengthen international cooperation in areas vital for tourism competitiveness, accessibility, and sustainability.
