Street Action for Public Awareness and Sensitization on Personal Data Protection

In the context of celebrating 18 years of activity, which the National Center for Personal Data Protection (CNPDCP) marks on July 10, 2026, the institution organizes a series of activities dedicated to promoting the right to privacy and increasing public awareness about personal data protection. Thus, on July 6, 2026, CNPDCP representatives carried out a street awareness and sensitization campaign aimed at promoting a culture of personal data protection and encouraging responsible behavior in their use. The event took the form of an open dialogue with citizens, allowing them to ask questions and receive information about personal data, data subjects' rights, principles governing data processing, as well as security and confidentiality measures necessary to protect data. Through this initiative, CNPDCP reaffirmed its mission to contribute to the development of an institutional and social culture based on respecting the fundamental right to privacy and data protection, guaranteed by the Constitution of the Republic of Moldova and national legislation, harmonized with European standards. Celebrating 18 years of activity is an opportunity to reaffirm the institution's commitment to strengthening dialogue with citizens, public authorities, the business environment, and civil society, as well as to promote better understanding and application of data protection norms. In this regard, CNPDCP will continue to carry out public awareness and sensitization activities, providing citizens with explanations and practical guidance on personal data protection and ways to exercise their rights, thus contributing to a better understanding and respect for these rights.
