Krapović: Members of VCG and NG Mejna Confirm Capabilities for the Most Challenging Rescue Scenarios

Airmen and medical personnel of the Montenegrin Army and Mejna National Guard conducted a demonstration exercise at the military airport "Knjaz Danilo Petrović Njegoš" as part of the "Common Challenge 26" exercise, during which procedures and techniques for responding to aircraft crashes and rescuing injured persons were demonstrated. The exercise showcased actions following a simulated aircraft crash, from initial response at the accident site, securing the area, providing first aid, to extracting and evacuating the injured from inaccessible terrain. Firefighting and rescue teams responded quickly and secured the accident site, while helicopter rescuers demonstrated techniques for extracting injured persons from inaccessible terrain and preparing them for further medical evacuation. A key segment of the exercise focused on coordination among different teams, which is crucial in situations requiring rapid synchronization of air, fire-rescue, and medical capacities. Joint training allows personnel from the armed forces of both countries to exchange knowledge and experience, further improve procedures, and be better prepared for real crisis situations. The demonstration was attended by the Chief of Staff of the Montenegrin Army, Colonel Mitar Klikovac, exercise commander, Captain Goran Đurković, Commander of the Air Force of the Montenegrin Army, Lieutenant Colonel Bojan Popadić, as well as high officers of Mejna National Guard, Colonel Nejtan Arnold and Lieutenant Colonel Geri Džordan, and Lieutenant Colonel Bernd Rot from the Austrian Armed Forces.
