Borovinić Bojović in Nikšić: Employees are the foundation of the healthcare system

The Deputy Prime Minister of Montenegro for health and social care, Dr. Jelena Borovinić Bojović, visited Nikšić today on a working visit, during which she toured the General Hospital Nikšić, the Special Hospital for Lung Diseases "Dr. Jovan Bulajić" in Brezovik, and the Nikšić Health Center. In discussions with management and staff of these institutions, the Deputy Prime Minister learned about their work results, daily challenges faced by the healthcare system, as well as needs and plans for the upcoming period. A special focus during the visit was on healthcare workers and non-medical staff, whose work is crucial for the functioning of healthcare institutions and providing quality and accessible healthcare to citizens. She emphasized that direct conversations with employees are the best way to assess the real needs of healthcare institutions, as well as to identify opportunities for improving work organization, strengthening staffing capacities, improving working conditions, and further enhancing the quality of healthcare services. During the visit, discussions also covered infrastructural capacities, equipment of the institutions, work organization, human resources needs, and possibilities for further modernization and improvement of healthcare services. The Government of Montenegro remains committed to further improving healthcare, strengthening staffing and infrastructural capacities, and creating conditions in which healthcare and non-medical workers can perform their jobs professionally, responsibly, and in the best interest of citizens.
