Berane: Criminal complaint against man suspected of attempting to hit a police officer on duty – previously detained for refusing a breathalyzer test

Officers of the Berane Department submitted a criminal complaint to the Basic Public Prosecutor's Office in Berane against T.D (55) from Berane, suspected of committing the criminal offense of attacking a police officer performing official duties. He was initially detained for violating the Traffic Safety Law – refusing a breathalyzer test during a traffic stop. He was then taken to the Berane Emergency Center for medical assistance. It is suspected that he committed the offense in the Emergency Center premises by attempting to hit a member of the Intervention Unit of the Berane Department who brought him for medical aid. The public prosecutor in Berane was informed about the case and ordered that T.D be detained and brought in with a criminal complaint, which was carried out. After questioning, the prosecutor released him from further detention. The suspect was brought before the Misdemeanor Court for the offense related to the Traffic Safety Law.
