Current spam emails falsely claiming to be from the Police Department of Montenegro; do not respond to these emails – delete the email and block the sender's address

The Police Department warns citizens about a scam involving unknown individuals who sent emails overnight and today with false content, falsely claiming to act on behalf of the Police Department of Montenegro. Attached is a forged PDF document with a fake header from the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Police Department (Podgorica), and the Europol logo, referencing case number 05-332/25-4540/6, titled "Initiation of Court Proceedings." The PDF falsely states that a court case is being initiated against the recipient for a supposed criminal offense related to child pornography, citing Article 211 of the Criminal Code of Montenegro. Recipients are asked to send their explanation to a fake email address (pjpodgorica.rukovodilac@post.com), with a threat that failure to do so will result in the report being forwarded to the relevant judicial authorities. Citizens and recipients of such emails are advised to be cautious, not respond, and not open attachments that may contain malicious content. This is not the first time that the names and visual identities of state authorities and financial entities are misused in scams, and the public is urged to be vigilant and responsible in the digital space.
