Borovinić Bojović: Protect your health – get a preventive check-up

The panel was opened by Ms. Milena Milatović. Alongside the Deputy Prime Minister for Health and Social Welfare, Dr. Jelena Borovinić Bojović, participants included Dr. Nevenka Lukovac-Janjić, an internist-oncologist; Dr. Duška Radović, a radiologist; and Dr. Adrijana Vujović from the Institute of Public Health of Montenegro, who works on chronic noncommunicable diseases and screening programs. The discussion addressed preventive check-ups, early detection, diagnosis and treatment, as well as support for women facing illness. Borovinić Bojović highlighted the importance of preventive examinations, noting that breast cancer may not cause symptoms in its early stages. She also emphasized the importance of supporting women during treatment, stressing that no woman should have to go through illness alone. “It is our duty to enable her to undergo treatment with dignity and with the feeling that she is not alone,” she said. It was concluded that prevention must be an ongoing responsibility of institutions and the healthcare system, so that every woman, regardless of where she lives or her financial circumstances, has access to timely examinations, diagnosis and treatment.
