US Embassy Representatives Visit Police Directorate: Strengthening Strategic Partnership and Support for Modernization

During the meeting, respectable results achieved by the Police Directorate in the fight against organized crime and corruption were presented, along with reforms aimed at strengthening professional standards, improving efficiency, and further developing a modern police system. Director Šćepanović emphasized the importance of successful and continuous cooperation with US institutions and agencies, especially through support programs like INL, ICITAP, FBI, DEA, OPDAT, and RSO, which contribute to the professionalism and modernization of the Police Directorate, strengthening operational capacities, and enhancing responses to contemporary security challenges. Šćepanović highlighted the significance of the Forensic Center as one of the key organizational units of the Police Directorate, whose capacities are an important support in solving crimes and conducting efficient investigations. The donation of a modular data center (MDC) by INL, valued at 1.2 million US dollars, was particularly emphasized, as it will enable a secure environment for future information infrastructure, servers, communication equipment, and systems, which is crucial for strengthening digital security. In this context, the donation of LIMS software to the Forensic Center of the Police Directorate was also highlighted, representing an important step in improving laboratory process management, work efficiency, and the quality of forensic analyses. Chargé d'affaires ad interim at the US Embassy, Michael Kiz, expressed strong support and gratitude to the Police Directorate for ongoing cooperation and decisive fight against organized crime.
